  1. An amplifier, electronic amplifier or (informally) amp is an electronic device that can increase the power of a signal (a time-varying voltage or current). It is a two-port electronic circuit that uses electric power from a power supply to increase the amplitude of a signal applied to its input terminals, producing a proportionally greater amplitude signal at its output.

There are enough problems with phones and other devices being recognized via USB in Windows that for iPhone I'd use a superior backup method which is iCloud wirelessly in the.

Choosing a Polarimeter for Pharmaceutical Laboratories

Port

Below is an example of why Polarimeters with accuracy of ±0.02 and ±0.01 accuracy polarimeters are not suitable for pharmaceutical applications. Please review the USP monograph for the material Ofloxacin. Ofloxacin must have a specific rotation between +1° and -1° at a concentration of 10mg per ml. Biots Law:
The Autopol I has an accuracy of ±0.02° optical rotation. Below is how its relative accuracy affects a hypothetical Ofloxacin sample:
You cannot successfully inspect a pharmaceutical (such as Ofloxacin) having a Specific Rotation between+1 and ±1 and a 1% concentration, which is quite common for most pharmaceuticals, with an instrument that has an accuracy of ±2.0 in Specific Rotation.
The Autopol IV has an accuracy of 0.002 for Optical Rotations of 1°Arc for a total unknown of +/-0.002 under the same conditions:

AUTOPOL II Automatic Polarimeter

The AUTOPOL II Automatic Polarimeter is a general-purpose polarimeter with ±0.01 Degrees Optical Rotation accuracy. This accuracy is applicable for food, university education, many chemical, flavor and fragrance applications, as well as pharmaceutical inspection in some countries.

  • Measures Optical Rotation, Specific Rotation, Concentration, and °Z (ISS) Sugar Degrees

* Dynamic Range / Distance: OWLTrek II singlemode OTDRs are capable of finding breaks in singlemode optical fibers up to 80 miles to within +/- 6 feet. Additional splices and other loss producing events will limit end distance estimates. This is true for all OTDRs. However, passive singlemode Telco links are almost always less than 12 miles long. At this distance, OWLTrek II OTDRs have break finding capability of about +/- 1 meter! In fact, increased dynamic range is actually a disadvantage in almost all cases because of the increased OTDR cost (usually thousands of dollars more).

With an unbeatable combination of a small pocket-sized form factor, a high-resolution color LCD display, and some of the lowest pricing in the industry, the OWLTrek II OTDR from OWL is the WISE choice for cost-conscious buyers who only need to perform basic troubleshooting or restoration tasks on multimode optical fiber networks. All this from an OTDR that really is pocket-sized and fair priced, yet having comparable features and specifications to other OTDRs in its class.
Affordability. In a time when it is becoming increasingly difficult to justify equipping an entire technical staff with high-end equipment, companies are even more cost-conscious than before. These companies outfit a majority of their installation/repair personnel with OWLTrek II OTDRs, and set aside a few high-end “expert” devices for high-priority jobs.
Call OWL at 262-473-0643 for more information about this new and exciting development in OTDR testing, and discover why OWL is the wise choice in fiber test equipment!

AUTOMATIC EVENT LOCATION / EVENT TABLES
Automatic event location is an advanced feature normally found only in expensive, high-end OTDRs. The OWLTrek II OTDR now brings this feature to the entry-level OTDR market.
The OWLTrek II OTDR includes an event table showing the location, type, reflectance level, and loss of each event. Users can select an event to view, and automatically zoom in on the event on the OTDR display.

NEW! With the release of firmware version 2.17, users can now view events as a graphical representation of their fiber link!
AUTOMATIC SCREEN ROTATION
The OWLTrek II OTDR may be pocket-sized, but the large 2.8” high-resolution color LCD display can show even the longest traces with ease. And, for greater viewing flexibility and trace detail, OWL has implemented state-of-the-art MEMS technology which “flips” the high-resolution color LCD display between portrait and landscape mode automatically. In landscape mode, a wider viewing area means greater viewing detail when zooming in on events.
